What is ZYN?
ZYN is a brand of nicotine pouches. Its official FAQ describes the product as tobacco free, smoke free and device free, designed in the Nordics and produced in the brand's factories in Scandinavia. A pouch is placed under the lip, and the brand's instructions say it can be enjoyed for up to 30 minutes.
A nicotine pouch is not snus. Snus contains tobacco leaf, while ZYN contains no tobacco at all. If the distinction is new to you, our guide to snus vs nicotine pouches explains where the line sits and why the two terms are often confused.
This directory covers ZYN's pouch range. That is the range the brand's own country shops lead with, and it is the range this entry checks.
What does ZYN make?
The official Swiss ZYN site lists two formats. Slim is the larger pouch, and Mini is the smaller one. On that market the Slim range is listed in Spearmint, Cool Mint, Menthol Ice, Blackcurrant Frost, Red Fruits and Guava Spice. The Mini range is listed in Spearmint, Cool Mint, Peach, Black Cherry and Coffee.
Treat that list as a Swiss list, not a world list. ZYN runs separate official sites by country, and each one shows its own flavours, formats and strengths. The Italian official shop, for example, presents a Regular format alongside Mini, with its own flavour set. Before you rely on any flavour name, open the official site for your country and read its current range page.
Can sizes also vary by market. The Swiss FAQ states that a Slim can contains 20 to 21 pouches and a Mini can contains 15 to 20 pouches. Your local can may differ, so the count printed on the can in front of you is the figure to trust.
How does ZYN label strength?
ZYN cans use two signals at once. The first is a printed nicotine level. The second is a dot scale on the pack. The brand's FAQ explains the scale plainly: no dot represents the lowest nicotine strength and five dots represent the highest.
Dots are a within brand signal. Five dots on a ZYN can do not convert into a number you can carry across to another brand, because every brand builds its own scale. Our strength chart by brand shows how the major labelling systems differ, and our guide on how to read a nicotine pouch label walks through each field on a can.
How do you use a ZYN pouch?
The brand's own instructions run in five steps. Break the seal to open the can. Place a pouch under your lip. Expect a tingling sensation, which the brand says is a normal part of the experience. Use it for up to 30 minutes. Then store the used pouch in the compartment in the lid until you can bin it.
Pouches are single use and should never be reused. Used pouches go in a waste bin, and the brand asks users to empty the can before recycling it. Keep pouches stored where children cannot reach them.
Where is the official ZYN site?
The official brand home is ZYN at zyn.com. From there, choose your country, because range, labelling and buying options are set market by market. The Snus Store does not sell ZYN or any other product. We link to the official site so you can verify every detail in this entry against the source.
ZYN also states its own limits clearly. Its FAQ says the pouches are not a quitting aid and are not designed as cessation products. They are for adults who would otherwise continue to smoke or use other nicotine products. Nicotine is addictive, and these products are not risk free.
FAQ
Is ZYN snus?
No. Snus contains tobacco leaf. ZYN's official FAQ states that ZYN does not contain tobacco. It is a nicotine pouch, which is a separate category explained in what is white snus and in our snus comparison guide.
What do the dots on a ZYN can mean?
The dots communicate nicotine strength within the ZYN range. No dot is the lowest level and five dots are the highest, according to the brand's FAQ. The scale belongs to ZYN only and does not translate directly to other brands.
How many pouches are in a ZYN can?
The Swiss official FAQ states 20 to 21 pouches in a Slim can and 15 to 20 in a Mini can. Counts are set by market and format, so check the can or your local official range page for the exact figure.
Where can I check the current ZYN range?
On the official site for your country, starting from zyn.com. Local sites list the flavours, formats and strengths actually on sale in that market, which can differ from every other market.
Is ZYN suitable for someone who does not use nicotine?
No. ZYN is an adult nicotine product. The brand states it is intended for adults who would otherwise continue to smoke or use other nicotine products, and nicotine is addictive.
Bottom Line
ZYN is one of the clearest directory entries to verify, because the brand publishes detailed official FAQs for each market. Read the dots as a ZYN only scale, read the flavour list as a local list, and confirm both on your country's official site before you buy anywhere.
